The music group "DualEdge" is set to make a remarkable entrance into the gospel music scene here in Nigeria and beyond. The right word to describe these guys would be "innovative", with the way they combine new sounds with Gospel inspired lyrics  leaves you awestruck and inspired at the same time.

The group was formed by two brothers koch and Gospel, who started music growing up in the church before starting professioally in 2010. Their style of Gospel music is a blend of hiphop, afropop and alternative sounds.

KINSU, born and christened Kingsley Tochuckwu Oko, is a young and talented rapper, singer, song writer and producer born in Enugu, South Eastern Nigeria.

Born on the 30th of may, Sammie Okposo Nigeria born multiple award winning international artist, dedicated time in his youthful years to his local church playing the piano for the choir from age 10. His music profession started in 1992 when he joined the Nigeria Movie Industry as a Sound Track Producer and later ventured into Music Production. Today, he is credited for producing hits for some of the biggest names in the Nigeria Music Scene.

Hip Hop Artist Da T.R.U.T.H. gears up for the release of Heartbeat,  his seventh studio project and the very first project under his Mixed Bag Entertainment partnership with Eone.  “Heartbeat” will feature notable artists Lecrae, Chris August, Isaac Caree, Alexis Spight, Canon, Papa San and Capital Kings along with newly signed Mixed Bag Artists. This medley is a remix of a 2011 version of ‘I Declare’ from her second album ‘A New Level’. Those of us who heard the previous version were introduced to the definition of soul gospel. Efe is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and music director. Among other recognitions, Efe’s work earned her a nomination on the BEST ALBUM category of The 2012 Scepters National Gospel Awards. She is also recognized as voice-over artiste and makeup artiste/image consultant.

With the consciousness of making an impact, Efe has performed live alongside the likes of Michelle Hammond of USA, Ben Okafor of UK, Late Pastor Paul Irabor and Shafi. Here is a brand new song from a female gospel artiste known as Flow. The song is titled “The Last Prayer” and is one song you need to listen to as she flows you through the experience Christ went through when he went to pray His last prayer before being crucified.

Flow got inspired to write the song while reading through Matthew 26:36-44. It is her debut single and obviously, she is set to release more tracks but resolved to begin with this.

Flow’s name is Florence Okwuba and she is a native of Anambra State, Nanka. She was born and bred in Lagos where she completed her primary school and secondary school. She left Lagos for Ibadan in year 2000 to further her education and is a graduate of Computer Science.

She dances, sings ,Acts and plays the  guitar and a little bit of keyboard.

Flow believes in directly impacting lives through her gifts and skills. She has pioneered two groups, David Dancers in 2009 (in Sokoto during her service year) and also formed The Shabach Crew from 2011 which exit till present.

Obviously, besides dance, she also ministers through songs. She gets her  inspiration to write through the word of God and sometimes she testifies to hearing the Angels sing.

Frank Edwards of RockTown Records has just released another single “Away”. its a heavenly sound and a love song. According to Frank Edwards, “With love from my heart …this song goes out to everyone going through challenges in different areas of life” 

James Fortune and his incredible host of singers Fiya, today (Feb 25th, 2014) released their very first live album titled “Live Through it." The album, which was recorded in Atlanta in front of an audience of 5,000, features vocals from award-winning gospel artists and singers such as Israel Houghton, Tasha Cobbs, Isaac Carree, Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Da’ T.R.U.T.H, Alexis Spight, Zacardi Cortez.

The atmosphere notably that of an urban congregational praise, and worship setting; needless to say "Live Through It" takes us straight to church.

It can be duly noted that songs on the album that comes with a reprise like "Forever," "We Give You Glory," and "Light The Way" are the most memorable tunes (not to say that the other songs aren't as powerful).

The album kickstarts and ends with some spoken-word intro and outro by Kirk franklin and Bishop John Francis respectively.

The 20-track double CD album has worship oriented songs like "Forever" where, Fortune and Fiya magnify Jesus and remind people of the sacrifice He made on the cross. Also "We Give You Glory" which features gospel music’s new sweetheart Tasha Cobbs who gives a powerful soul-stirring performance.

"Live Through It” also sees an atmosphere of praise and testimonies in "Best Praise" and "Miracles." "Miracles" is more like a collection of testimonies specifically of terminal sickness (like cancer) which people experienced healing through God’s divine power.

“Empty Me” which features Isaac Carree clearly stands out mostly because of the tune’s lyrical depth. “Empty Me” connects to the next song “Light Your Way,” which features Israel Houghton. “Light Your Way” deviates from standard Gospel fare in that it has a Pop/Rock edge. Though it could have been a disaster, it works. It is one of the best songs on the record.

The album title track “Live Through It” encourages, motivates and inspires. The tune is a rousing declaration of triumph over obstacles through faith. For fans of James Fortune, this is a very familiar territory.

Another memorable moment is on a song called “Just Smile." Here, two female vocalists give an astonishing performance while encouraging listeners to smile no matter the situation.

James Fortunes and FIYA deliver a set of catchy hooks and infectious rhythms with the right measure of soul, passion and energy. Live Through It marks a defining moment for Fortune in his musical career. Typically, an album with a lot of guest artists turns me off, but this one was as an exception as every single act featured brought something exceptional to the table.

This album will rock the world of gospel music, and you should get familiar with it. Cop it.
