NEWS | Jessica Reedy Releases New Single ‘Better’ On Own Label Purity Records


BET’s Sunday Best season 2 runner-up, Jessica Reedy, has released her new single ‘Better’.

With a stunning, chart-topping (Billboard and iTunes at #1) debut (‘From The Heart’), ‘Better’ new release on iTunes simply adds more fuel to her fire. Reedy’s chart-climbing new single ‘Better’ is another step closer to the release of her forthcoming sophomore album due out this spring. Her new project, currently untitled, will be the first effort under her newly founded label, Purity Records.

Finally, here is one of the most anticipated singles of the first quarter of 2014. Ever since we put out word on its release,  gospel music aficionados, DJs, artistes etc have been asking for its download link.

The song is titled "I Have Seen (Baba God)" and is from Toyebi, an amiable  Nigerian born gospel music minister. Toyebi is based in the United States of America and has worked with the likes of Darnell Davis & the Remnant, Sonnie Badu,Tosinger, Kenny K'ore, Lanre Olagbaju, Joy Ike, Mike Dreams, Mike Aremu and Midnight Crew. Obviously, he is not a green horn.

 On this track, he manages to give us a home-drenched sound even though he worked with some international instrumentalists on it. Some of the said instrumentals are known to work with top international gospel artistes like Israel Houghton.

Our versatile 'home boy', Toyebi, gives us a homegrown sound on this one but also told us that he would release some western grown sound in due time. He also hinted that the radio edit version of the song will be released within weeks as well.

ABOUT YEMY

Yemi Olatunji (YEMY), who is a prolific singer, songwriter and a worshipper, Yemy's music could best be described as Afro/urban contemporary music, while some people call it Trado Contemporary music. The name of his music ministry is "The Praising Xtian" (TPX) which creates an atmosphere of worship, praise and Edification in Gods presence. He has been a praise worship leader for several years which has blessed so many lives. He was born in Ibadan city in Oyo state,a first child of 5 in the family and an indigin of Esa Oke, a town in Osun State Nigeria . Finished from Sijuade nursery/pry school Ile Ife, school of science and then progressed into The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU)  where he finished from Microbiology department. And then served in Abia state for his NYSC, and that was where his album work started from .

He's presently a member of a Professional body called Chattered Institute of Environmental Health UK (CIEH uk). He became aware that he could sing at the age of 8, Although he was playing trap drums in church all along too both in his church  and outside back then. He has been a music director for many churches till date, he really started writing and performing at small gatherings and concerts in 1996 as a Jazzist and an accapella singer in (Restoration boys Jazz band/ Beyond the doubt accapella grp). He held his first and second concert in 2005 and 2010.

Part of his professional discovery as a gospel singer include the stage of an historic concert being held every year at OAU (living spring festival) His Debut Album is tittled UNMOVABLE while 4 tracks of are already on trend on different download links .He's been nominated for several awards of which is the National Gospel Music Award (Scepters award) in 2013. He's also one of the dew Nigerians that will be awarded at 2014 "Impact Nigeria Awards " in Abuja ( FCT) for his contribution to his country through one of is tracks ( Naija go Smile)

NEWS | Tamela Mann tops Stellar Awards with 7 wins; Kirk Franklin wins song of the year

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Tamela Mann has won seven awards including top honour artist of the year at the Stellar Gospel Music Awards.
Mann broke down in tears as she spoke with the audience during the 29th annual ceremony at Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. She also won major awards female vocalist and CD of the year for "Best Days."
Kirk Franklin's "Take Me to the King" was named song of the year, Tye Tribbett took male vocalist of the year and Tasha Cobb won three awards including new artist of the year.
Hezekiah Walker and Anthony Brown & Group Therapy matched Cobb with three wins apiece as well.
The two-hour awards were hosted by Sherri Shepherd and Rickey Smiley and broadcast on the Up Network.
